As seen just now on the KARE11 (nbc) news...
Flags put near graves in a cemetary in Eau Claire, WI have been disappearing by the dozens, and no one had any idea who might be stealing them...until a groundskeeper saw faded fabric high-up in a tree, which turned out to be a tattered flag. SQUIRRELS have been taking the flags and using them for nest material.

BWAHAHA! Oh my god, so glad I happened to catch that!

In other news, got to leave lake class (I'm calling limnology that from now on) early since she didn't make us stay after doing our first lab. I've done about 10 pages of reading (all in that book) so far, but am supposed to read one of my four books for Saturday's class by Saturday...we'll see. Hope it isn't too boring!

I've got a growing feeling that something, or LOTS of somethings, are creeping up on me. I can think of several possibilities, but this is more like a *feeling* that...just, something bad is coming. No, please. :/
I want to read some Brokeback Mountain fanfic, but none exists. And none will exist for at least a month and a week, and that's only if someone sees it and writes and posts opening day. This marks this first time I've wanted to read slash...because though every fandom has massive slash fanfic, this movie's fic would be exclusively slash (unless someone's in severe denial, or hasn't seen the movie).

Why the hell am I up? I need to get to chem early and ask if I can come to a different lab to make up for the one I freakin' slept through this morning. Stupid sleep-craving body. It's been worse lately. OK, going to get ready for bed, print online chem homework (as I want to get as much done as possible before getting home from school tomorrow--I gots too much to do after school. BUT, she extended it 'till Thursday at 11:59pm, so it's no longer absolutely critical, 'cause I'll be able to finish after math on Thursday, yea! Well, not yea, but y'know.) I'm gonna see U2 tomorrow night (YEA!!!). Sort of crappy seat, but at least by the side of the stage and not the opposite side of Staples Center. If I get there early, I may try to find someone with an extra floor ticket and then try to sell this one. I was there tonight to pick up this ticket, and it was crazy. I thought about trying to go tonight too, but I got there too late and there was no parking less than $15, and no guarantees I'd find a ticket after paying that, so...roight.

After Holiday Inn/Staples Center, I went up to Hollywood to find out wtf is going on with midnight Harry Potter showings. Both the Chinese and the Vista people said they didn't know yet. The movie comes out in just over two weeks and you don't KNOW if your theater is having a midnight showing?! W.T.F. Both said to check back. The Chinese said to check back on Thursdays. The Vista either has no real phone #, or they just wouldn't give it to *me*, so checking back there involves freakin' driving up there just to ask a question. GARRRR! At least parking wasn't too bad.

Have to leave the comp on all night, as Bones and House are taking their sweet-ass time. *Babbling out!*
I'm getting so tired....and I have swimming at 8, and should really go (but maybe I won't...I'm already missing Wednesday and next Monday, but I also skipped the week before spring should I put in one appearance, or miss like 2 1/2 weeks in a row? goddammit.) See, the problem is, I'm downloading tonight's Arrested Development. I desperately want to see it again...(*the hotness, oh my god, such hotness*). It's at 85%, and thinks it'll take another 33 minutes (as of 1:15 a.m.).

Phoenix! )
So, I have about 12,000 hours of schoolwork to catch up on. (I've probably done like 6 so far this semester.) Chemistry test on Monday, math test on Friday.

This weekend the great Line starts, kickin' off with brunch on Saturday...and I really should check to see if we have to register for that. :/ I'd damn well better do some homework while there. Jesus. I'm afraid my gpa this semester will be like 2.0 or less (when it's always been above 3.5 in college).

After the stupid tests are over.......SPRING BREAK!!!!!

Spring break consists of:
Late late Sunday/EARLY Monday through Wednedsay night: college tour trip thingy, to UC Davis, Berkeley, Santa Cruz, and Santa Barbara.

Friday night: U2 in Phoenix!! (assuming everything works out....ebay guy has not freakin' contacted me and I'm worrying here, grr.)

The rest of the time: gotta be earning those hours in line. And doing goddamn homework. :(

After spring break, 2 terrible days of class, then it's off to STAR WARS CELEBRATION III in Indianapolis! Woo! Funness and getting to see old friends, and briefly, my family on the way back.

Then, back to nothing but goddamn shitty chemistry hell. (sigh)

Oh yeah, there will be that Star Wars movie to look foreward to. And then my birthday I have off from school, which means more than usual, since it's on a Friday which means having it off means no chemistry lab (yeees!). But still, this semester needs to die.
'24' makes me so happy. I so need the dvds of this season (and 1st!).

Pre-calc test tomorrow! (nooooo) Study time put in so far: maybe 10 minutes. :/ I'll have to leave for school around 12-12:15 or a little before if I'm maybe I can actually get up early for once and freakin' STUDY. Because I can't now; it's time for the Daily Show! (then of course there're the late shows...god I need to stop the non-homework-doing madness)

Yes, so now, off to TDS bliss.
Yea!! I'm officially enrolled in 3/4 classes. Sweet. All that's missing is Ballet 1, 'cause someone freakin' stole my add code! (well, they probably wrote the wrong one down and used it before I got to, grr.) So I have to try and straighten that out on Sunday (a Sunday class?!? yep.). This semester's gonna kinda suck. The last two, I've had awesome classes like marine bio and astronomy 5 (possibilities of life elsewhere) and music/band, and pretty cool classes like astron 4 (solar system astron w/lab) and photo. Now? Pre-calc. Chemistry. Swimming (am SO out of shape I can't do the crawl 'cause I'm out of breath...I had to side-stroke instead so I could breathe). YUCK!! At least that first ballet class last Sunday was fun. I could actually do all the shit decently, except for pirouettes, and she said the beginners didn't have to do 'em anyway. :)

I'm wasting way too much time online & watching tv. Someone help! I'm not doing my homework.....and this semester, slacking's actually going to hurt me. (*scared*)

Sexy Ewan

Nov. 16th, 2004 11:43 pm
Nakedness in the third episode of 'Long Way Round'...a hot stone massage that was really a torture session in disguise (SOME people find that hot :p Made me want to be ill/cry/hold him. Poor Ewan & Charlie!). I think Ewan is naked when he does his video diary--we only see from portrait distance, but he never has a shirt on at least, and knowing him... :) This docu is good, and not just because Ewan is Ewan. Oh, but I also can't forget that they showed him, pre-trip, in his GLASSES again!!!!!! (swoon, moan, drool)

I've got a bunch o' crap to do for school...can get it done, but not timely.

Called MN Godiva today, and my old manager is gone! :( I'd hoped she would last, but alas, Godiva cares too much about little shit like coaching logs (for employees that have been there for 6-8 years!) and not accomplishments like being the mamager to make beyond the sales goal for the quarter for the first time in EIGHT years. Sigh. New guy had already hired seasonal people, so now I have to find another job there. Who's going to still need seasonals on December 18th?
So tired. Have bio paper to write. Have stupid oceanography tomorrow morning. Will watch Daily Show, then go to sleep and do paper tomorrow after oceanography (and hopefully finish it).

Elise! I bought 2 tickets to the second showing (first was sold out) of ***EMPIRE*** at the Arclight on Tuesday 11/30...there's an introduction from Kershner (he does a Q & A after the first showing, dammit). If you can't (or don't want to, 'cause you've just had a massive stroke or something) go, tell me now and I'll let the FF know. The seats are the 2nd row of the middle section, like 5 away from the middle of the row. (K26 & K27)

Oceanography was great on Tuesday--I'd forgotten my teacher was going to some conference, and my old astronomy prof subbed! Instead of filling in the blanks and getting yelled at, we went to the planetarium, did cool stuff, and got to go early!
I spent a long-ass time trying to figure out a way to re-size pics...computers are really annoying...then I noticed that paint now lets you save pics in jpeg! I'm used to it only being bitmap. So, I didn't need to waste that much time. :( Also, I don't know why the comp won't just let me copy the thumbnail previews of pics in my folders, which are the right size.

SUCKY day today. Nose/head messed-up and awful at work, plus half the money 'cause I was a runner instead of server, then had to go pick up a package 'cause UPS is retarded, and the place was practically downtown, so I ended up 20-25 minutes late for astronomy, which I'd skipped last Wednesday because I had a headache from work--and homework and lab were due that day and I still hadn't e-mailed either to the professor...then found out I'd missed a quiz too.
I was all stressed out and worrying that I'd now have a low B or something because of all the shit I missed just from being sick 1 day, then talked to prof Grazier during break to explain I'd been sick, and he told me that I'd missed him handing out fresh labs that we'd done a few weeks ago, and that we had to do them again because many students copied or didn't do part of it right (I'd not done a half-assed job, and had done it correctly). That damn thing had taken like 3 hours to do, AND I'd had to do it by myself 'cause he was gone when we did them and had never e-mailed me back to fix the lab groups/tell me who I was with. He just said something about not following directions (to work with a group...but how could I when I didn't know who my group was?! Ass.) and "sorry", the labs were gone, he'd thrown them away. I was so...offended, I guess, that I'd put all that effort and he'd thrown the damn thing away without a glance and now wants me to do it again. WTF, do I have to photocopy everything now before giving it to him in case he does this again? While talking about this shit with lab partner (yes, I do actually have a 3-person lab group) Kari, I had to go to the bathroom and get a hold of myself so I wouldn't cry there in the classroom (why the hell am I crying this easily anyway? jeez.) I just felt really crappy. I could barely smile when Grazier quoted SW like 5 minutes after break [Mercury has a huge crater in the side (that's no moon, it's a space station!), but then he amended that by saying Saturn's moon, Mimas, is more like the death star...of course I know this already :) ], and this chick that sits near me looked at me and was like "Star Wars, yeah!" ('cause she knows I'm a fan...I don't think she is...she works at Hooters, so, hmm.). ANYway, upon *leaving* class, Kari tells me the homework and lab that were due last Wednesday had been changed to today and this Wednesday. So I'm really only down the quiz. Why the hell didn't she tell me that before? (rolling eyes exasperatedly)
So, goddammit. Oh yeah, and he made fun of how I said "no", asking if I was from the valley. For an awesome professor (credentially, academically), he really sucks. :( Maybe I should try to never say ANYTHING in there. Except that's really not fair. Siiiiigh. I want my old astron prof back! I loved him so. He was from London. He said "ray-eh" (rare). He built a telescope/observation station at the south pole!

Anyway, I'll try looking at Luke. He's bound to make me feel better. Tomorrow will be better...sucky oceanography, pretty allright bio, with chance of seeing old marine bio prof in the cafeteria during break(!!!). Not that...I care...uh, about anything but getting back my labbook from last spring. Right! Lab book! Yes.
